Almost there...

On St. Patty's day, Miles braved the wonderful world of walking on his own two feet! He managed to get in about four steps on his own. He is now up to about 4-12 steps. He still doesn't have a strong desire to just get up and go...he prefers assistance. Within a couple of days of learning to walk, he ripped holes in his little leather slipper shoes. He has now graduated to real shoes.

Miles is also exploring the verbal world. His favorite word is "uh oh". He knows how and when to say it...which is too cute. He also enjoys the words, "gata" (female cat), "árbol" (tree), and "pato" (duck). "Gata" (we have two female cats) he understands is a cat...or any animal for that matter! The other words he just repeats after you say them...well "tree" is starting to make more sense to him. He also responds to the question, "¿Dónde está la luz?" (Where is the light?). He quickly points up at a light. This started just before Christmas while pointing out Christmas lights.

Miles' love for drumming and percussion has not slowed down. It is still the first thing he wants to do when he gets home...and when he wakes up. He doesn't even like to let go of the drumsticks for a bath...so they have been bathed a few times as well.
I will be posting some pictures soon of our weekend trip to GrandBob and Abuela's house for my grandfather's birthday. For now you can enjoy some of Miles' recent masterpieces while at daycare!
